Cortney Wilcox- Nurse Practitioner
Cortney Wilcox received her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN/FNP) from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining San Diego Center for Integrative Medicine, Cortney worked as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Cortney grew up in Indiana where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Ivy Tech Community College in 2005. She went on to receive her Associates Degree in Nursing from Danville Area Community College in Illinois in 2009. In 2010, Cortney moved to San Diego where she worked as a contracted RN at a Detention Facility from 2010-2012. She moved on to Alvarado Hospital as an RN in 2012, becoming the charge nurse of the custody unit. While working at the Detention Facility and Alvarado Hospital, Cortney went on to further her education at the University of Phoenix. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 and in August 2016, she completed her MSN/FNP.
In the last four years, she developed a passion/interest in health, fitness, and overall wellness. She has competed in four fitness competitions from 2014-2015 and is a sponsored athlete. While competing, she realized that once she was an FNP, she wanted to incorporate her passion/interest. While looking for a preceptor, Dr. Aiello was recommended by one of his patients, who happened to be her colleague. During her two months of precepting with Dr. Aiello, she found an interest in his approach to medicine and treating patients holistically. Combining her passion/interest of nursing, health, and fitness.
